Kelly is a mother of three boys and a nurse educator with 15 years of experience in child development. Kelly is also SBFC’s Community Outreach Director and has given numerous talks at PTA groups and other organizations at many of SBFC’s 90 Partner Schools.

This special SBFC Summer Series is for parents of children ages 10 - 13 and will run for three weeks. The series offers parents and caregivers insight and tools during this challenging time when camps, guards, and the usual summer activities that our families have all come to rely upon are suspended.

The series will be collaborative and educational in nature. Participants can expect the following format:

  • A check-in period during which time participants will authentically share the current challenges and successes they are having engaging their children in meaningful activities and supporting their social-emotional wellness.

  • Kelly will share insight related to the developmental stages of kids aged 9 - 12 in order to bring understanding to the unique challenges of this age group, as well as communication strategies that parents can implement to connect with their kids in meaningful ways, while honoring the autonomy that many will begin to strive for during this stage.

  • Kelly will share national and local resources of potential interest to parents, as well as gather recommended resources from the group and other parents through SBFC’s various parent engagement channels.

Registration is not required. Please check back for the Zoom link which we will share prior to the event. There is no fee for this event.
